C Perplexity Free / Pro / Max

Trains by default. Opting out (Account settings → Preferences) only applies going forward, and data already collected for training can't be removed. No business contract.

"For Free, Perplexity Pro and Perplexity Max users, AI Data Retention is enabled by default."

A Perplexity Enterprise Pro / Max

Enterprise data is never used for training, and Perplexity's contracts bar outside model providers like OpenAI and Anthropic from training on it. Uploaded files are deleted after 7 days, admins can set retention and enforce Incognito Mode, and Perplexity offers a Data Processing Addendum and holds SOC 2 Type II.

"No. Your organization's data is never used to train or fine-tune Perplexity's models."
